EU Glyphosate Renewal - Risk Assessment Committee opinion
On May 30th the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced the conclusion of its review of the classification of glyphosate. Based on a wide-ranging review of scientific evidence, the ECHA Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) concludes that classifying glyphosate as a carcinogen is not justified.

A regulatory milestone in the ongoing process of application for the renewal of glyphosate approval in the EU
On 15 June 2021, the Assessment Group on Glyphosate (AGG) has shared its draft renewal assessment report with EFSA and ECHA, as provided by the EU Plant Protection Regulation. The AGG considers that glyphosate does meet the approval criteria set in the EU Regulation. The evaluation will progress to the next step in the regulatory process.

The new glyphosate dossier is admissible
Today 18 August, the Assessment Group on Glyphosate (AGG) concluded that the new scientific dossier submitted on 8 June by the Glyphosate Renewal Group is admissible. The AGG will initiate now the science-based evaluation of glyphosate safety.

Glyphosate Scientific Dossier Submitted
On Monday, 8 June, the Glyphosate Renewal Group submitted the scientific dossier in view of a new evaluation and risk assessment of the active substance glyphosate. The submitted scientific dossier, including 100 newly performed studies, will be accessible via this website.
